Credits are given by each quarter:
High School Classes
Common Assessments (Exams/Tests/Quizzes/Labs/Projects) –
70%
Enrichments (Homework, Classwork, Participation, etc.) –
30%
Middle School Classes (non-high school credit courses)
Common Assessments (Exams/Tests/Quizzes/Labs/Projects) –
60%
Enrichments (Homework, Classwork, Participation, etc.) –
40%
Common Assessments have been developed by teachers
district-wide that show a student's learning of the course.
Some of these are major activities such as tests, projects,
labs, demonstrations while other common graded measures
may be minor such as quizzes, participation, etc.
The Enrichments Portion is the part of the class
that is uncommon across the district and unique for each
teacher. This may include homework, classwork, and additional
assessments, projects, or other that each individual teacher
would like to include in their class.
Any student may retake a Major Common Assignment (Test,
Lab, Project, etc.) within two weeks of receiving the grade,
but will receive no higher than an 75%.
Grades will be transcripted each marking period. Wyoming
Public Schools no longer uses E’s or F’s. If
a student does not receive at least a 60%, D-, they will
receive an “I” (incomplete). Any student who
receives an “I” in any course has the opportunity
to receive the credit in the course by retaking and demonstrating
proficiency on major common portions of the class that they
failed. If this is outside the two-week grace period, they
will receive a 60% RCR (Recovery Credit) in the course.
