Text Box: It is a great day to be a HAWK! I say this with the greatest amount of respect for the history and current status of Rogers High School. The amount of student, staff, and parental involvement during this difficult time of change has been humbling as the principal. All of us should be so proud of our community. The students, who have many mixed feelings, have demonstrated such civility and respect during such a difficult time of change. As we move forward, we need to believe that together we are a powerful team. Wyoming Public Schools community has the opportunity and responsibility to leave a legacy that will be sound educationally and globally competitive for our students. The new model for serving the students of WPS will allow us to meet the needs of students in a more efficient and comprehensive way. As a result, we will make gains in all aspects of our delivery as we move forward. We will become laser focused on a K-12/13 instructional program in which every student has the potential to be their personal best. We will have a common brand that all students entering the school system can take pride in for all 13 years of instruction. We will be successful, as long as we work together in the process of change and we come together with the determination to make our hopes and dreams, a reality. Please feel free to contact me at any time if you have questions or concerns, and please be active and part of this transition for Text Box: KEY CLUB
DISTRICT
CONVENTION

Mr. Lorenz escorted eight members of the Key Club to the state wide district convention in Kalamazoo this past weekend. Students networked with other Key Clubbers, helped package thousands of meals for Kids Against Hunger, and were trained in ways to develop service opportunities for their schools. Next year we will be helping to raise money to eliminate tetanus in pregnant mothers and their newborns in third world countries. Key Club is a high school subsidiary of the Kiwanis Club. High School students interested in serving the world community should see Mr. Lorenz about joining.

PROGRAM PRESENTS
ON THE TOWN
APRIL 19, 20 & 21

Theatre students at Rogers High School are busy preparing for this year’s musical, On the Town. The actors and musicians involved have made tremendous progress in rehearsals so far, and everyone is looking forward to performing.

On the Town is the story of three sailors with a 24 hour pass in the New York City of the 1940’s. They have only one day to explore the city, but soon decide to split up in order to find the lovely “Miss Turnstiles.” Each of the three meets someone during their quest, and the whole group sets out to take in the night life of New York City. Misunderstandings and mistakes follow our sailors every step of the way, and a great time is had by all.

On the Town will be performed at the auditorium at Wyoming Park High School. Evening performances will begin at 7PM on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, April 19-21. A special matinee performance is scheduled for 2PM on Saturday, April 21. Tickets may be purchased at the door, or you can reserve your tickets by calling

530-7580, extension 2014.
