Public Schools takes pride in being "family-friendly".
School Match of Columbus, Ohio, the nation’s largest
service that helps relocating families find schools for
their children, recognized Wyoming Public Schools with a
“What Parents Want” award.
Parents
have several options including one early childhood center, five elementary schools, one 5th/6th grade intermediate school, one 7th/8th grade middle school, two high schools and one secondary alternative education school.
Each school offers a comprehensive curriculum with clearly defined standards in all subjects at each grade level.
Huntington Woods Early Childhood Center offers services to the Districts pre-kindergarten students. The early childhood center offers Great Start Readiness Preschool (GSRP), a free preschool program to qualified families; a tuition-based preschool and Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) for students who qualify and require an Individual Education Plan (IEP).
Gladiola Elementary a K-4 school, offers an accelerated reading program and emphasizes community involvement and partnerships.
Parkview Elementary a K-4 school, excels in establishing community partnerships in education. Parkview offers Sheltered English Instruction (English Immersion Programs) for English Language Learners, including Spanish bilingual support.
West Elementary, a K-4 school, has a an active MiBlisi program that promotes positive behavior. Parental involvement is encouraged, and West has a very large and active Parent/Teacher Organization.
Oriole Park
Elementary, a K-4 school, incorporates a multiage, brain-based instructional theory. Oriole Park is a 2007 Michigan Exemplary Blue Ribbon School recipient.
Jackson Park Intermediate, a 5th/6th grade school, focuses on transitioning students from an elementary setting to the middle school setting. Structured like an elementary school, students receive a majority of their learning from one teacher with teaming employed, so students will also learn from at least three other teachers during the course of the school day.
Newhall Middle School, a 7th/8th grade school, is our District middle school. Newhall is very active in college visitation, student and staff volunteer programs and has a very active Parent-Teacher Group (PTG).
Rogers High School, a 9th-12th grade school, is very proud of its rich tradition of excellence in quality curriculum and instruction. Students are afforded the opportunity to participate in many extracurricular academic, fine arts and athletic activities.
Wyoming Park High School, a 9th-12th grade school, boasts a high percentage of student participation in school activities and clubs and has outstanding theatre arts, music and art program in addition to The Park athletics.
These are just a few of the differences among our schools. A variety of programs serve preschoolers through 12th grade, in areas of academics, fine arts, athletics and other extra curricular activities.
Before and after school child care is available at the K-5 level and extended day academic support programs are in place at the K-12 levels.
Special education services are available throughout the district, and other support programs serving children of all ages include bilingual education, Title I, career and technical education, adult and community education, Summer recreational programs are offered at most elementary sites, in addition to secondary school academic programs.
