Book House Locations

Recognizing the need for more and the impact of reading, Wyoming Public Schools has committed to setting up a district wide Reading Initiative that will encompass not just Wyoming students, but the community as well.  The purpose of the Initiative is to encourage reading at all levels, to bring the community together on this endeavor, and to make free books accessible to our students and our community.

Wyoming Public School Dress Code

The Wyoming Public School District Dress Code expresses our commitment to learning, safety, high standards, freedom of expression, and appropriate, responsible dress for school and school functions. Attention to appearance is a reflection of care and concern for our students and our community. We have established these standards to create an atmosphere of self-respect and respect for others.

Online Learning 21f Options for Students in Grades 5-12

Online learning can be a good option for students. The Michigan Legislatures has passed a new law that allows for students in grades 5-12 to take up to two courses online per semester. There are many options for students seeking to explore online education. This link will provide the information and forms for possibly seeking this option.

In this Online Learning Guide, you will find resources to help you better understand the characteristics of successful online learners. You will also find some of the questions your family will want to discuss to determine whether online learning is a good option for your student. We in your school district share a very important goal with you and your student. We want your student to be a self-confident and successful learner. Online courses contribute to your students’ grade point average and to our schools’ graduation requirements, just as traditional courses led by a teacher do. That makes it very important to work
together to determine if online learning is right for your student at this time.

Mentorship can be about helping a struggling student, but it can be about a lot of other things, too, Davis said. Mentors can write letters of recommendation, cheer their mentees on at sporting events, help them develop a better relationship with their parents, or just be there to listen.

The reality is an absence is an absence, excused or not, and that child is not in that classroom benefiting from the instruction on that day. We have to work in our community, with our schools and our families to build a culture of attendance.
